Agartala, 15th March 2024 : In a significant development for the energy sector of Tripura, the Tripura Power Transmission Limited (TPTL) has been granted a transmission license by the Tripura Electricity Regulatory Commission. The formal license handover took place in a ceremonial event on Friday at the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited’s office located in Banamalipur, Agartala.
The license acquisition marks a pivotal moment for TPTL, which commenced operations on January 19, 2023. According to an official from TPTL, the transmission license is a critical requirement under the Electricity Act 2003 for the company’s operational legitimacy and future endeavors. The swift issuance of the license by the Tripura Electricity Regulatory Commission, following due process, underscores the commission’s commitment to the state’s energy infrastructure development.
