Tripura progress reflects development under PM Modi’s Leadership: CM

Agartala, 14th June 2026:  Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that the states of the North Eastern region are gradually moving forward in line with the development work of the main part of the country.

He said that the growth of GDP of the states of this region, development of tourism, and development of the communication system are being made possible only through Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East Policy.

“This year, for the first time, NITI Aayog has separately held a meeting with the Chief Ministers of the North Eastern states to discuss the development work of the region, which is a good example of the goodwill attitude of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government for the development of the North Eastern region,” said Dr. Saha.

Dr. Saha said this while inaugurating a three-day state-wide public welfare camp organized at Rabindra Bhavan on the occasion of 12 years of the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal.

This camp will continue till June 16. The camp will run from 11 am to 4 pm every day. Through this, the general public will be able to learn about various public welfare projects of the Central and State Governments.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the development work of the country is being carried out as Team India with the Chief Ministers and members of the Council of Ministers of various states.

“The Prime Minister’s thoughts are also being implemented by the state governments for the overall welfare of the people of the country. During the tenure of the government led by the Prime Minister, a new momentum has been instilled among the people of the country. Confidence has come into the minds of the people, and the desire for public welfare is being awakened,” he said.

The Chief Minister highly praised the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed in detail various public welfare projects of the Central Government, including Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, Mera Mati Mera Desh, Amrit Vatika, Har Ghar Tiranga, Startup India, Digital India, UPI transactions, and the introduction of the GST system.

In addition, while discussing various aspects of the state’s development, the Chief Minister said that starting from the cabinet to the three-tier panchayat system, e-office has been launched, and a Good Governance Department has been established. It has been possible to bring people from almost all parts of the state under the umbrella of health insurance. Tripura is ranked second among the states of the North Eastern region in terms of GSDP and per capita income.

At the beginning of the program, the Chief Minister and other guests, including the Union Minister, inaugurated and inspected an exhibition camp organized on the occasion, as well as an exhibition pavilion containing various projects of the Central and State Governments. A short documentary on the 12-year tenure of the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also shown at the program.

MLA Abhishek Debroy, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, West Tripura Zilla Parishad Acting Sabhadhipati Bishwajit Shil, Secretary of ICA Department Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, other MLAs, PSU chairpersons, Agartala Municipal Corporation councilors, officials from various state government departments, and members of the general public were present at the inauguration ceremony of the public welfare camp.
