Agartala, 15th June 2026 : A major road accident was narrowly averted on Monday when the vehicle carrying Tripura Legislative Assembly Chief Whip and Teliamura MLA Kalyani Saha Roy was involved in a collision in the Baramura Hills area.
According to reports, the accident occurred while her vehicle was negotiating a curve on the hilly stretch when it collided with a Bolero pickup truck coming from the opposite direction. The impact caused damage to the vehicles and triggered panic among those present at the scene.
Kalyani Saha Roy sustained minor injuries in the accident. Two Personal Security Officers (PSOs) and her Confidential Assistant (CA), who were also travelling in the vehicle, reportedly suffered minor injuries as well.
Local residents and authorities rushed to the spot soon after the incident. All the injured were provided necessary medical attention, and their condition is stated to be stable.
