Agartala, 19th December 2025:  Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Friday said that the country is fully prepared to handle any situation, as border security has already been strengthened.

Speaking to the media after attending an event in Agartala, Dr. Saha said that the situation in neighbouring Bangladesh has remained unstable since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country.

“Everyone is aware of the developments there. The situation has not been good. Terrorists, thieves, dacoits, and other criminals have escaped from jails, which indicates the kind of challenges that may arise,” he said.Dr. Saha, who also holds the Home portfolio, stated that the Tripura government has kept the central leadership informed about the situation. “As this is an international matter, we have sent detailed reports to Delhi and are prepared to tackle any kind of situation,” he added.

He further said that a joint programme involving the Indian Army was held a few days ago. “From the border and security perspective, we have already strengthened arrangements. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the senior leadership are closely monitoring the situation and will take all necessary steps. With the support of modern technology, we are fully prepared to face any eventuality,” Dr. Saha said.
