Agartala, 6th December 2024: The Tripura Tapashili Jati Sammanay Samiti organized a function on Friday to commemorate the death anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar at the Melarmath office premises. The event was attended by MLA Ramu Das, MLA Sudip Sarkar and other dignitaries.
A representative from the Samiti addressed the gathering emphasizing the significance of the event. “Like every year, this year too, the Tripura Tapashili Jati Sammanay Samiti has organized a function to celebrate the death anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar. Today, we remember his contributions and reflect on the current state of our constitution,” he said.
The representative expressed concerns about the current political climate, stating, “The constitution is currently under attack in our country. Dalits are being deprived of their rights. The current BJP government is not working in the interests of Dalits and Scheduled Castes.”
He further criticized the government’s approach, highlighting the discontinuation of socio-economic development plans for Scheduled Castes that were initiated during the Left Front government. “The plan to develop the Scheduled Castes socio-economically during the Left Front government has now been completely stopped. The people must rise up in protest against this,” he urged.
