Agartala, 4th September 2024:   The Twipra Students’ Federation (TSF) organized a protest on Wednesday at the foot of the Gandhi statue, Circuit House here demanding the adoption of the Roman script for the Kokborok language.

The leader of TSF stated that the demand for Roman letters in Kokborok has been longstanding, yet the government has consistently ignored it. “We have reignited our movement today to voice our concerns during the Tripura monsoon assembly session,” he said.

The organization warned that their struggle would persist until the government meets their demand for the Roman script in Kokborok. They also cautioned that they would escalate their efforts and join a larger movement if their demands remain unmet in the coming days.
