Agartala, 23rd May 2025: Royal Scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma announced today that he had productive meetings with Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, and Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Cement. Several investment proposals were discussed, many of which are expected to be directed towards the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
Pradyot, who participated in the Rising Northeast Investors Summit 2025 in New Delhi, expressed optimism about the region’s economic potential. “If Northeast India can be developed positively and this summit realizes even half of its potential, the Northeast will emerge as a significant economic hub not only within India but on the global stage.”
“For the first time, the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council has been included in such an event. I had very fruitful discussions with Mukesh Ambani and Harshavardhan Neotia, and several investments have been proposed, many specifically targeting tribal areas,” he added.
He also highlighted the strategic importance of Northeast India. “India’s western borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan continue to face challenges. However, looking eastward, the opportunities are immense. Countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand in ASEAN are experiencing robust economic growth. Connecting the Northeast with these economies will not only benefit the region but also contribute significantly to India’s overall growth.”
Pradyot echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, emphasizing, “The focus should be on ‘Act East,’ not just ‘Look East.’ This proactive engagement is key to unlocking the Northeast’s full potential.”
