Agartala, January 08, 2023: Tripura TET Teachers’ Welfare Association (TTTWA) organized its first state-level convention at Netaji Chowmuhani here on Sunday.
Speaking to media personnel on the sidelines of the convention, Association’s state secretary Ajay Pal said “The organization was formed on December 23, 2017. The state government recognized this organization in 2021. Accordingly, conference has to be organized after every two year.”
“In 2016, we appeared for TET examination through Right to Education act. In the entire country, no TET qualified teachers are being recruited in fixed pay scale. The previous state government recruited in this scale and present government is continuing it. From this conference, we request the state government to change this policy of recruiting TET qualified teachers through fixed pay scale”, he added.
Citing problems of teachers, Pal said many amongst us are continuing their service hundreds of kilometres away from their home, parents are suffering from old age ailments. In such a situation, livelihood had to run with salaries of Rs 16,000 and Rs 20,000 only per month. Hence, this policy of recruiting in fixed pay scale has to be stopped immediately and appointments need to be made on regular pay scale.
“Apart from this, the members of TTTWA are engaged in various social services like distribution of book free of cost, arranging blood donation camps, etc. throughout the year. In the afternoon, new state executive committee of the association along with district and sub-divisional committees will be announced”, he also added.
