Two buses collided at Charilam, injures over 10

Agartala, 1st January 2026 :  A collision between two buses in front of Charilam School this afternoon left 10 to 12 passengers injured, including elderly people and children.

Locals informed that the accident took place when one bus attempted to overtake another and rammed into the rear of the vehicle ahead. The impact caused multiple passengers to sustain injuries.

Local residents immediately alerted the fire service, who rushed to the spot and transported the injured to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital. All victims are currently undergoing treatment.

Police from Bishalgarh station later arrived at the scene, seized the vehicles involved, and brought the situation under control. Authorities confirmed that an investigation into the incident has been launched.

Residents expressed concern over the unchecked movement of buses along the national highway, which has led to frequent accidents and fatalities. Despite repeated incidents, locals allege that the administration remains silent on enforcing stricter road safety measures.
