Two-day Tribal Artesian Fair begins at Dharmanagar

Agartala, May 03, 2023: Sabhadipati of the Uttar Tripura Zilla Parishad Bhabatosh Das inaugurated the two-day tribal artesian fair on Wednesday at Ardhendu Bhattacharya Smriti Bhavan, Dharmanagar. At the inaugural ceremony, Kanchanpur BDO Prabir Mal Sui, TRIFED General Manager Colonel M Mehra from Delhi, Assistant General Manager of TRIFED Abhijit Datta and Dharmanagar Municipal Council’s L Riang were present.

Entrepreneurs said it is a branch of the Ministry of Travel Welfare of the Central Government. Especially the people of North Eastern region are not getting proper market after making their own handloom or handicraft items. TRIFED has about 150 sales centres in the country and has opened sales centres in many countries abroad. Therefore, this initiative of the central government is for the purpose of properly marketing the products manufactured by the people of the North Eastern region.

Not only that, this organization will train them on how to make their products more accurately. This central organization will extend all kinds of help from preparation of merchandise to marketing in order to improve the quality of the people. The central government has taken up this special scheme for the people as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s plan to develop the North East region.
