Two dead bodies found in Bishalgarh, police investigating

Agartala, August 24: The residents of Bishalgarh were shocked by the recovery of two dead bodies in different locations on Thursday morning. The police are investigating the causes of death and have sent the bodies for post-mortem.

The first body was that of 75-year-old Maya Rani Debnath, who was found hanging from the window grill of her house in Kadmatoli area under Bishalgarh police station. Her family members said that she was suffering from physical ailments for a long time and there was no problem in the family. Her husband works in Bishalgarh Post Office. The police were informed by the neighbours who heard the screams of the family members. The body was taken to Bishalgarh sub-division hospital morgue.

The second body was that of a construction worker named Rakesh Acharya, who was found lying in the tea garden of Harishnagar opposite the central correctional facility at Prabhu Rampur in Bishalgarh. His mother said that he left the house in Murabari area on Wednesday afternoon and did not return home. On Thursday morning, they received a call that his body was found in the tea garden. The police were informed by the family members who identified the body. The body was sent to Bishalgarh police station and then to the morgue for post-mortem.

The police are probing both the cases and have not ruled out any foul play. They are waiting for the post-mortem reports to ascertain the exact causes of death. The incidents have created a lot of panic and curiosity among the people of Bishalgarh.
