Agartala, 24th March 2024 : In a recent crackdown by authorities at the Anandabazar Special Police Outpost (SPO) Naka checkpoint in Dharmanagar, two individuals were apprehended along with two bulero vehicles loaded with buffaloes. The incident unfolded early on Sunday morning, as vigilant officers intercepted two vehicles bearing registration numbers TR-05C-1618 and TR-05F-1797 en route from Dharmanagar to Kailashahar.
The suspicious vehicles were flagged down and thoroughly inspected at the Naka Point, situated in front of the Anandabazar SPO camp. Upon examination, a total of nine buffaloes were discovered concealed within the cargo compartments of the two vehicles. Simultaneously, authorities took into custody two individuals identified as Rajiv Uddin, aged 19, and Parthasarathy Das, aged 23, both residents of Panisagar subdivision.
Following the arrests, the two vehicles, along with the confiscated buffaloes, were transported to the Dharmanagar police station for further investigation. A spokesperson from the Dharmanagar police station confirmed the seizure, stating that the operation took place around 5 am on Sunday morning. The police have initiated a detailed inquiry into the matter and have registered a specific case in connection with the illegal transportation of the animals.
