Two held with narcotics worth Rs 2 lakh

Agartala, 15th January 2025 :   In a major breakthrough, the NCC police station successfully conducted a raid in the Khejur Bagan area, leading to the recovery of a significant quantity of narcotics and cash. The operation, based on a secret tip, was carried out under the supervision of NCC police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sushanta Deb.

During the raid on a house owned by Loknath Roy, police seized dried marijuana, 300 boxes of heroin, Rs 19,000 in cash, and a mobile phone. The estimated market value of the recovered narcotics exceeds Rs 2 lakh, according to OC Sushanta Deb.

“Loknath Roy, the house owner, was immediately taken into custody. Following his confession, another individual, identified as Dipankar Roy, was also arrested. Both accused are being prepared for production in the police remand court, where further investigation is expected to reveal additional details about the narcotics operation”, said OC.

This raid highlights the NCC police station’s commitment to combating the illegal drug trade in the region
