Agartala, 22nd August 2025:    Police have arrested two men in connection with the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl at Udaipur Railway Station, located under the jurisdiction of Radhakishorepur Women’s Police Station.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Thursday when Mithun Debnath (24) and Buar Debbarma (24), both residents of Mohanbhog in Sepahijala district, allegedly lured the minor into a TR07 3545 WagonR vehicle and drove her to Udaipur Railway Station. There, the girl was reportedly assaulted inside the vehicle.

Later that night, around 10 p.m., the vehicle was intercepted at a checkpoint near Kakraban Police Station while en route to Mohanbhog. Officers detained the two men and the minor during routine inspection. Upon questioning the girl, police uncovered details of the alleged assault and immediately alerted Radhakishorepur Women’s Police Station.

On Friday, the victim informed her family, who subsequently filed a formal complaint against the accused. Police registered the case under FIR No. 30/2025, invoking sections 641/61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

A forensic team examined the vehicle on Friday afternoon, and the minor was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation as part of the legal protocol. Sub-Inspector Ruby Baidya has been assigned as the investigating officer and has initiated a detailed probe into the case.
