Agartala, 5th December 2025: Sonamura Police have arrested two youths on charges of being involved in drug trafficking. The accused have been identified as Abbas Mia, also known as Rahul or Bhuttu (24), and Shafik Mia (30). Both are residents of Bholamura under Sonamura police station.
According to police sources, allegations of drug dealing and smuggling had been circulating against the duo for a long time. Acting on a tip-off, police launched an investigation and reportedly gathered several crucial pieces of evidence. Based on this information, the two were taken into custody.
Police stated that specific charges will be filed against the accused, and they will be produced before the court. Authorities further confirmed that anti-narcotics operations will continue across the region.
