Unakoti district police destroys 30,000 cannabis plantation at Pecharthal

Agartala, October 12: In a significant operation, law enforcement officials led by SDPO in-charge Kumarghat Feroz Miah, Deputy SP (Probationer) Utpalendu Debnath, and Officer-in-Charge of Pecharthal police station, in collaboration with additional police and TSR personnel, carried out a meticulously planned raid on Thursday morning at 10 AM. The operation took place in Ramdula para, situated within the jurisdiction of the Pecharthal police station.

The primary objective of this operation was to address the burgeoning issue of illegal cultivation and distribution of ganja (cannabis) within the region.

During the raid, the authorities uncovered and subsequently destroyed an estimated 30,000 ganja plants across multiple plots.

This massive eradication effort signifies a significant step in combating the illicit narcotics trade and promoting public safety in the area.
