Agartala, 1st May 2026 : An unidentified young man’s body was recovered from the Howrah River in West Noagaon area under Ranirbazar Police Station on Friday.
Local residents spotted the body and informed the police, who arrived at the scene and retrieved it with the help of recovery personnel. The body was shown to locals for identification, but no one could recognize it.
Police suspect that the body may have drifted from another location. It has been sent to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
The incident has created panic in the area. Notably, the body was found in a semi-nude condition. Police are investigating whether any missing person cases are linked to the incident.
