Agartala, 20th August 2025: An unidentified elderly man, aged around 60–62 years, died at the Bishalgarh Subdivision Hospital on Wednesday morning, officials said.
According to hospital sources, the man was rescued in a critical condition by personnel of the Bishalgarh Fire Service on Tuesday afternoon and brought to the subdivision hospital for treatment. Despite medical attention, he succumbed to his illness on Wednesday morning.
Following the incident, a sense of curiosity and speculation spread across the hospital premises. Bishalgarh police immediately rushed to the spot after receiving information and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.As the hospital lacks adequate facilities for body preservation, the subdivision administration supervised the completion of all legal formalities, after which the body was shifted to the morgue at Agartala GBP Hospital.
“The body of the unidentified person will be preserved at GBP Hospital morgue for 72 hours while efforts are made to establish his identity,” said Dr. Rajib Roy, physician at Bishalgarh Subdivision Hospital.
