Agartala, 13th August 2026 : A sensation prevailed at the Dharmanagar District Hospital premises on Thursday afternoon after the body of an unidentified man, believed to be around 60–65 years old, was recovered from a drain within the hospital complex.
According to reports, at around 12 noon, several people arriving at the hospital noticed a man lying inside a drain on the hospital premises. They immediately informed the hospital authorities, who subsequently alerted the Dharmanagar Police Station.
Police personnel soon reached the spot and recovered the man from the drain before taking him to the hospital for medical examination. The attending doctor examined him and declared him dead.
Hospital sources said the deceased appeared to be around 60–65 years old. However, his identity has not yet been established.It also remains unclear how the man fell into the drain or the circumstances that led to his death. Dharmanagar police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
Police are currently working to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the exact cause of death. The incident briefly created tension among patients, attendants and visitors at the Dharmanagar District Hospital premises.
