Agartala: April 27. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to pay a visit to Tripura in the first week of May. If sources are to be believed from BJP in the state has said that Union Minister Shah is likely to arrive in the state on May 8 or 9, although the date has not yet been finalized.
Sources from BJP have said that he will visit two permanent resettlement camps of internally displaced Bru people who fled Mizoram and took shelter in Tripura in 1997.
“We have received information that Union home minister Amit Shah is expected to arrive in the state on the first week of May. Though final dates have not yet been finalized it is expected that the minister would arrive on May 08 or 9. He will visit two permanent resettlement camps which were set up for Bru people in Amarpur and in Karboook under the Gomati district
In these two resettlement camps, a total of 703 families of Brus are living, including 439 families in Amarpur and 264 families in Karbook. The local administration has intensified their work in view of the visit of the union home minister.
The employees of the Electricity, Drinking Water, Health, and RD Department are working day and night to provide the overall services in the resettlement camps. The construction of helipads in the vicinity of the camps has also been constructed on an emergency basis is in full swing.
Health Secretary of Tripura Debashis Bose officially inaugurated two sub-health centers in these two camps.
He reviewed all the preparations for the Home Minister’s visit. Moreover, the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha is also likely to visit both the camps to inspect all the preparations.
