Agartala, 19th April 2024: Union minister of state Pratima Bhoumik, marked the ‘festival of democracy’ on Friday by exercising her voting rights at Barnarayan Class XII School in Jatrapur. Emphasizing the significance of the ongoing elections, Bhoumik highlighted its role in nation-building and strengthening international friendships.
Speaking after casting her vote, MoS Bhoumik underscored the pivotal role of elections in propelling the nation forward. She stressed that each citizen’s vote holds the power to fortify the country and secure a brighter future for the upcoming generations. She echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of fostering friendly relations globally while emphasizing the importance of highlighting India’s presence on the world stage.
Notably, Bhoumik, who had contested and won the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat in the 2019 elections as a BJP nominee, participated in this election solely as a voter, not as a candidate.
Bhoumik’s remarks not only reflect the significance of democratic participation but also align with the BJP’s narrative of nation-building and diplomatic engagement under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. This symbolic act emphasizes the continuity of political engagement beyond candidacy.
