Agartala, 19th April 2024:   In a vibrant display of democratic participation, Biplab Kumar Deb, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) nominee for the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat, exercised his constitutional right to vote on Friday. The distinguished candidate commenced his day with a visit to the revered Mata Tripureshwari temple, seeking the blessings of the divine before proceeding to Udaipur English Medium Higher Secondary School to cast his vote.

In a post-voting interaction with the media, Deb expressed his profound gratitude for the opportunity to partake in the electoral process, emphasizing the significance of Tripura’s collective voice in shaping the nation’s future. He articulated his aspiration for Tripura to contribute to the reelection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, envisioning a robust and inclusive India that prioritizes the welfare of its citizens, particularly youth, women, farmers, and the underprivileged.

Deb’s optimism extended to the electorate, as he expressed hope that the residents of Tripura would actively exercise their franchise in alignment with his vision for a prosperous state and nation. However, amidst the electoral fervor, opposition candidate Asish Kumar Saha raised concerns regarding the absence of a pooling agent from their party, alleging an unfair disadvantage.

Responding to these allegations, Dev vehemently dismissed any insinuations of impropriety, attributing the opposition’s grievances to their inability to garner genuine support from the electorate. He criticized the purported alliance between the Congress and CPIM as unethical, accusing them of past transgressions against the people of Tripura and labeling them as pariahs seeking to tarnish the sanctity of the democratic process.

As the polling day progresses, the political scenario in Tripura remains dynamic, with candidates vying for voter support amidst fervent campaigning and spirited dialogue. The outcome of this election will not only shape the representation of West Tripura in the Lok Sabha but also reflect the collective aspirations of its populace for a brighter and more inclusive future.
