Agartala, 15th June 2024:   A school student is in critical condition following a biking accident, and his family is seeking urgent assistance for his treatment outside the state.

Shubajit Das, a class 10 student from the Puran Bari area of North Charilam Gram Panchayat in Sepahijala district was severely injured while riding a bike with friends.

He has been on ventilation for the last 27 days at a private hospital, where doctors have expressed little hope for his recovery.

Shubajit’s mother in a desperate plea has appealed to Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha to help save her son’s life.

“We have exhausted all our resources. My son needs advanced treatment that is not available here,” she implored, adding that they have no means left to continue his care locally, let alone fund treatment abroad.

The incident has drawn attention to the family’s plight, as they struggle with the mounting medical expenses and the urgent need for specialized care overseas.
