Agartala, 30th July 2025:   Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir continues to be at the forefront of social and environmental initiatives. As part of its commitment to raising awareness about nature conservation, the school organized a series of engaging events throughout the month of July.

The celebrations began with a nature-themed drawing competition held during the school’s morning session. The Pre-Primary students participated enthusiastically in a special activity titled “Show the Seed,” designed to encourage interest in seed planting and environmental care from an early age.

The highlight of the month-long activities was the grand celebration of Van Mahotsav, held on 29th July at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Auditorium on the school’s lush Narsingarh campus.

The event was graced by Principal Swapna Shome and the Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Agartala Kendra, former IFS officer Debasish Chakraborty.

The program commenced with the symbolic act of watering a sapling. In her welcome address, the Principal stressed the importance of tree plantation and the crucial role trees play in preserving our ecosystem.

The Narsingarh campus of Bhavan’s is known for its greenery, featuring a wide variety of medicinal plants, fruit trees, flower gardens, and decorative foliage, making it a vibrant green environment for learning.

As part of the celebration, tree plantation drives were conducted by the school’s NSS and NCC units, along with the Eco Club and Rotary Club, who planted a diverse range of saplings across the campus.

In his keynote speech, the Chairman emphasized the need for long-term tree care and nurturing, urging students and faculty alike to develop a deeper environmental consciousness and responsibility.

The event concluded with cultural performances by students, including a powerful theatrical presentation titled “Shesh Pata” (The Last Leaf), highlighting the urgent need for afforestation and environmental preservation.

The Van Mahotsav celebrations at Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir left a lasting impression, reinforcing the values of sustainability, awareness, and collective action toward a greener future.
