Agartala, February 16: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Friday said that the current state government has accorded special importance to strengthening the public distribution system, aligning with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The present state government is committed to the overall welfare of the people in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. The prime minister has emphasized strengthening the public distribution system, and under his guidance, the state government has taken various significant steps to fortify the public distribution system. As part of this initiative, Gomati’s dairy products will now be available at affordable prices through fair price shops,” said Dr. Saha.
Dr. Saha said this while formally inaugurating the Gomati Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited’s product merchandising ceremony through Fair Price Shop near Pragati Vidyabhavan, Agartala.
The sales center, named Gomati Milk Parlor, will now serve the people. In the initial phase, as a pilot project, four dairy products, including ice-cream, curd, ghee, and cheese, will be supplied to the people through selected ration shops. “Apart from ensuring the security and strengthening of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is consistently working for the overall welfare of the people through various people-oriented projects. One of the objectives of this government is to advance the development of the state under the Prime Minister’s appropriate guidance. The government aims for the comprehensive development of every individual,” he added.
Dr. Saha highlighted that the Prime Minister has given special priority to the development of the North Eastern states. “He has always emphasized that for the country to develop, the North Eastern states must be developed. Only then will the country progress. With that goal in mind, the Prime Minister is actively working towards the overall development of this entire region,” he said.
Chief Minister Dr. Saha emphasized that one of the goals of this government is to work collectively with everyone. “Making Ek Tripura Srestha Tripura will only be possible through the collective efforts of all. Politics is not a necessity for development; it is not required to ensure basic human rights. The state government has given special priority to the development of education, health, agriculture, sports, etc.,” said the Chief Minister.
Food and Civil Supply Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Cooperatives Minister Shuklacharan Noatia, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, and others were present.
