Agartala, 10th March 2025 :   In the pursuit of holistic socio-economic development, both governmental and non-governmental organizations are making continuous efforts to promote alternative economic activities. In a similar initiative, a two-day special bee-keeping training camp was inaugurated today at the Watilong Para JB School in the Dakshin Ghilatali Gram Panchayat area under the Kalyanpur RD Block. The camp brings together 30 men and women interested in bee-keeping from the block area.

According to reports, the Voluntary Health Association of Tripura (VHAT), a leading social organization in the state, has been working with the support of NABARD to empower around 300 residents of the block area to achieve self-reliance. The officials present at the event shared that today’s training camp is part of these efforts. They emphasized that the initiative aims to help individuals explore avenues for self-sufficiency through bee-keeping alongside other economic activities in the future.

Sources revealed that VHAT in collaboration with NABARD is actively working in Dakshin Ghilatli, Paschim Kunjaban and Rajni Sardar Para areas of the block. The organization is directly supporting various economic activities, including pig farming, fish farming, orchard development, bee-keeping and duck farming. Additionally, VHAT has been organizing health camps and other similar events from time to time.

This training camp is yet another step towards fostering sustainable economic growth and local people’s welfare.
