Victory Day celebrated at Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala

Agartala, 16th December 2024:  As in previous years, Victory Day was celebrated with due dignity at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office in Agartala. The event marked the historic occasion by hoisting the national flag of Bangladesh.

Victory Day, observed on December 16 commemorates Bangladesh’s independence achieved on December 16, 1971 after a nine-month war culminating in the surrender of the Pakistani army. This significant day is celebrated annually with solemnity and respect in Bangladesh.

In Agartala, the national flag of Bangladesh was hoisted at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission to honor Victory Day. First Secretary Md. Al Amin led the ceremony, paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence.

The commemoration highlighted the enduring spirit of Bangladesh’s struggle for freedom and the continued respect for those who contributed to its independence.
