Agartala, 26th September 2026 : A five-day teachers’ training camp organised by Vidya Bharati Shiksha Samity, Tripura, began on Saturday evening at Tripureshwari Shishu Mandir in Ramnagar, Agartala, with teachers and education workers from across the state participating in the programme.
The inaugural ceremony, held at 6 pm, was attended by Dr Abhijit Chanda, retired Associate Professor, Department of Higher Education, Tripura, as the chief guest, while Dr Poonam Mukherjee, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, Tripura University, attended as the guest of honour.
Tapa Sharma, Pranta Prashikshan Pramukh, and Subhas Ganchaudhuri, Secretary of Vidya Bharati Shiksha Samity, Tripura, were also present at the inaugural programme.
Addressing the gathering, the speakers underlined the importance of continuous professional development for teachers to improve the quality of school education. They stressed the need for educators to regularly update their knowledge, teaching skills and professional competencies in line with changing educational requirements.
The five-day programme will focus on academic and pedagogical development, value-based education and the holistic development of students. According to the organisers, the training is aimed at helping teachers adopt innovative teaching-learning methods and respond more effectively to the evolving needs of students.
The camp will feature academic sessions, interactive discussions, practical activities and sessions covering various aspects of teaching and learning. Participating teachers are expected to gain new perspectives and practical approaches that can subsequently be implemented in their respective schools.
The organisers emphasised that effective teacher training is essential for creating a student-centred and value-oriented education system. The inaugural session concluded with an appeal to teachers to continue strengthening their knowledge and skills and contribute towards improving school education across Tripura.
