Agartala, 26th September 2025 : The 205th birth anniversary of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, a towering figure of India’s social renaissance, was observed on Friday by the All India Save Education Committee, Tripura Unit, in front of Ujjayanta Palace.
The day was marked as ‘Sikkha Bachao Diwas’ (Save Education Day), honoring Vidyasagar’s lifelong struggle for universal, secular, and scientific education beyond barriers of caste and religion.
“Like every year, this year too we are observing the day as ‘Save Education Day’ to pay tribute to Vidyasagar’s vision of education for all,” said a committee member while addressing reporters. He further stressed that even after more than 70 years of independence, education remains out of reach for many, especially the economically disadvantaged.
Calling upon the youth, students, and citizens, the committee urged society to embrace Vidyasagar’s ideals and continue the fight to ensure inclusive and modern education in every household.
