Village office remain closed for 2 days, protest at Amarpur

Date:

Agartala, 3rd June 2026:   Tension gripped Bhomarachhara ADC Village under Amarpur subdivision on Wednesday as Tipra Motha party workers and supporters staged a fresh protest over the continuous closure of the Panchayat office for two consecutive days.

From early morning, party activists gathered in front of the office, raising slogans and holding demonstrations. Later, they locked the main gate of the Panchayat office in symbolic protest.

Protesters alleged that the prolonged closure of the office has severely disrupted public services. Residents have reportedly faced difficulties in accessing essential facilities such as Record of Rights (RoR), land mutation, transfer-related documents, and other government services. Many villagers, including those traveling long distances, were forced to return without completing their work.

Tipra Motha leaders claimed that despite repeatedly drawing the administration’s attention to the issue, no effective action has been taken. They argued that the protest was necessary to safeguard public interest. The agitators demanded immediate resumption of regular office operations and uninterrupted delivery of services to the people.

Although the incident triggered tension in the locality, the situation remained peaceful. Local administration officials have assured that the matter will be examined. Residents of Bhomarachhara now await concrete steps from the authorities to resolve the crisis.
