Agartala, 3rd June 2025:  Residents of 82 Mile Namo Para under the 48 Karamcherra assembly constituency have been grappling with an acute drinking water crisis for the past 15 to 20 days with no resolution in sight.

Locals have repeatedly informed SDO Chiranjit Debbarma and junior engineers of the Water and Sanitation Department, yet the issue remains unaddressed. Frustration is mounting as contractors reportedly secure bills worth crores of rupees through the department, while basic water needs remain unmet.

The situation is not isolated, with similar complaints emerging from various parts of the constituency. However, despite widespread grievances, authorities have failed to take effective action, raising serious concerns about the department’s role in ensuring essential services.

Residents continue to demand swift intervention, as the prolonged crisis exacerbates daily hardships and fuels discontent.
