Agartala: August 29. Former CPIM MLA Ratan Bhowmik today said that as the electoral atmosphere in the state loses its former festive fervor, voters have cast their ballots with a sense of urgency and concern.
Ratan Bhowmik said this during a campaign event at booth number 8 of Tel Kajla in the Dhanpur Assembly.Bhowmik expressed that the excitement surrounding elections has given way to a sense of panic among the electorate. He reported receiving spontaneous responses from people as he engaged with them during his campaign activities.
“Many citizens have expressed the sentiment that they find themselves compelled to vote again due to circumstances beyond their control, specifically pointing to the BJP. The frustration stems from the perceived failure of the government to fulfill its promises, leaving people disillusioned”, he said.
He further claimed that the government in power has failed to uphold a single promise.“The ruling party is like a broken-down engine. In Delhi BJP faced setbacks in previous elections and predicting further challenges in the upcoming 24 Lok Sabha elections”, he said.Bhowmik’s statement echoed the prevailing sentiment among voters who appear to be withdrawing their support for the BJP.
During his campaign visit, Bhowmik was joined by notable personalities including MLA Shyamal Chakraborty, CPIM State Committee member Suresh Das, Shah Alam Mia, the current secretary of the Urmai Region Committee, and other dedicated activists.
