Agartala Dec 05: As sufferings reached its peak because of severe water crisis for long days, locals of Bahadur Para under Panisagar sub-division blocked road in protest.Resented locals demanded immediate restoration of drinking water services and repair of pump machine that is allegedly out of order for long days.
Agitating locals said, “For long months we are suffering with water crisis. Besides the only pump machine is also out of order”.The agitators further alleged that the pump operators are not getting salaries for past four months.“This pump house is the only source of drinking water in the area we have been suffering from water crisis since long years but now the problem has reached to an extreme level”, added the agitators.
Locals further alleged, “Even after repeatedly informing the concerned authorities and the local leaders there is no change in the situation”.Finding no solution, the locals were forced to block the road in protest since Monday morning.Finally, with the intervention of the local administration the blockade was lifted by the locals after receiving specific information.
