Date:

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, 10th April:  Amidst the rising temperatures all over the state, the crisis of drinking water has taken the form of intense protest movements all over. All of Tripura including the Smart City is facing a huge drinking water crisis. In the end, Pramila Bahini was forced to take to the streets. And on this side, for the last few months, the residents of Anurampara of the Santirbazar subdivision are being deprived of drinking water. They are in dire straits due to the shortage of drinking water.

Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation was informed several times. But they were not able to come up with any permanent solution to get out of this drinking water crisis. This long-standing problem had  given rise to anger which was revealed on Monday morning. The locals blocked the road.

The OC of Devdaru Fari police station rushed to the spot after receiving the news of the incident. He talked to everyone and brought the situation under control. He assured to eliminate the drinking water crisis. As a result of this road blockage, the vehicles were stuck on both sides of the road for a long time. Due to which the traffic is stalled.

Ordinary passengers have to suffer. However, questions have started to arise about the role of drinking water and sanitation department officials. When the state government is determined to provide drinking water services to different parts of the state under the Jal Jeevan Mission project, why is the picture reversed in Anurampara of Kaiaphang ADC Village in Shantir Bazar subdivision? It is common people’s opinion that the residents of Anurampara are suffering from drinking water shortage due to the misbehaviour of the officials of the drinking water and sanitation department.
