Agartala Oct 27: Protesting against acute water crisis in Jambura village in Khowai locals blocked road in protest demanding immediate restoration of drinking water services and repair of dilapidated pump machine.
According to the locals, the pump house which is the only source of water for the entire Jambura Gram Panchayat area is out of order for long days. Resulting which the locals of the area are facing acute water crisis since a week.The locals alleged “Even after repeatedly informing the concerned authorities and the local leaders there is no change in the situation”.
“It has been seven days that we are forced to live without water. Such attitudes have forced us to sit in protest”, said the agitating locals.
Later local BJP leader Bijoy Kumar Debnath spoke to the Sub-Divisional Officer of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department and later the water connection water restored.Receiving water after 7 long days, the locals lifted the road blockade.
