West Agartala & Battala police seizes phensedyl worth Rs 6 lakh in capital city

Agartala, September 12, 2023: West Agartala and Battala police stations’ staff led by their OCs seized huge haul of phensedyl worth around Rs 6 lakh at IGM Chowmuhani here on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters here, Sadar SDPO Deba Prasad Roy said “Acting on tip-off, state police marked the vehicle Tata Ace Magic bearing registration number TR01C-4305 suspected to have been carrying narcotic substances.”

“Accordingly, the vehicle had been chasing from Colonel Chowmuhani by the police station staff of Battala and West Agartala led by its OC Jayanta Kumar Dey. The vehicle disobeyed traffic signals and jumped from the vehicle near IGM hospital chowmuhani. The driver tried to flee but police nabbed him and police personnel managed to stop the vehicle restraining from any untoward accidents”, he added.

The Sadar SDPO also said that driver Mithu Das has been arrested and he will be interrogated. Preliminary, it can be said that around 600 bottles of phensedyl have been seized which market value would be around Rs 5 to 6 lakh.
