Will ensure that BJP is not voted to power: 10,323 terminated teachers

Agartala Jan 16: 10,323 terminated teachers on Monday gave a clarion call to ensure that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government is never re-elected in Tripura again.

As announced earlier, the retrenched 10,323 teachers today organized a massive protest rally as they burnt effigies of the incumbent chief minister Dr Manik Saha, former chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb and education minister Ratan Lal Nath.

The terminated teachers under Joint Movement Committee of 10,323 teachers slammed the ruling government for failing to keep its promise of permanent solution of the sacked teachers.

Addressing from the rally, the leaders of JMC of 10,323 Dalia Das, Bijoy Krishna Saha, Kamal Deb among others lashed out the BJP government and chief minister Dr Manik Saha over the formation of a new advisory committee.

They said, “The advisory committee is a new method to fool us. The last date of report submission has been put as March 31, when the elections will be probably over. This makes us clear of the intentions of the chief minister and his government”.

The agitators further said, “Our jobs had been terminated illegally and before coming to power the BJP had promised to give back our jobs but they did nothing except applying for two extensions; the former chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb had assured us in 2019 that he will settle our problem within two months but then ordered police atrocities on our peaceful and democratic movement; Dr Manik Saha had similarly promised to ensure our reinstatement after being briefed about the matter by senior jurists ; now he has again constituted an advisory committee whereas a simple cabinet decision could reinstate us in service”. The sacked teachers announced that they will do every possible thing to ensure that the BJP is never elected to power in Tripura in the ensuing polls.
