Agartala, 2nd May 2025: Despite being 90% disabled Ananya Chakraborty, a Class 10 student of Srinath Vidyaniketan in Khowai has passed her secondary examination with an impressive 70% in the first division setting an inspiring example for students across the region.
Ananya, a resident of Bankar faced significant challenges in her academic journey. Unable to write on her own, she relied on a writer fellow student Sangeeta Deb as permitted by examination board rules. Sangeeta, a Class IX student at the same school took on the responsibility of transcribing Ananya’s responses during the exam.
Reflecting on her achievement, Ananya shared, “I am overwhelmed with joy. This result is not just mine—it belongs to my family, my teachers and Sangeeta, who stood by me throughout the process.”
Ananya’s father, Atanu Chakraborty has been struggling financially, making her success even more significant for the family. Despite their hardships, he expressed immense pride saying, “My daughter has overcome challenges that many would consider insurmountable. She has shown that perseverance triumphs over adversity.”
The teachers at Srinath Vidyaniketan celebrated Ananya’s achievement, acknowledging the collective effort behind her success. “Her determination, coupled with Sangeeta’s dedication, was remarkable. Both deserve immense recognition,” said one of her teachers.
Sangeeta, who had to manage her own annual Class IX examinations alongside assisting Ananya was equally elated. “It was a challenge, but I felt honored to help Ananya. Seeing her succeed makes me incredibly happy,” she remarked.
Ananya’s accomplishment did not go unnoticed. The Khowai Government Employees’ Association felicitated her, applauding her perseverance. Her family, relatives, and the local community rejoiced in the celebration, proud of the extraordinary determination displayed by both Ananya and Sangeeta.
