Agartala, 26th May 2025:   A violent altercation over mangoes left a woman seriously injured in Jatanbari Ramthakur Ashram under Natunbazar police station. The victim Bulan Sarkar has filed a case at Natunbazar police station seeking a fair investigation into the incident.

Sources informed that the dispute erupted yesterday afternoon when Sarkar’s grandson attempted to pluck mangoes from a tree near the Ashram. Neighbours Narayan Mandal and his mother Bina Mandal allegedly attacked the boy with bamboo sticks while he was on the tree. Sarkar intervened to protect her grandson, but she was reportedly assaulted in the process. She further alleged that Narayan Mandal physically harassed her during the scuffle.

Initially, a complaint was lodged at Jatanbari police outpost, but Sarkar claimed that no significant action was taken. Dissatisfied with the response, she approached Natunbazar police station this morning demanding a proper investigation.
