Agartala, 26th May 2025: A special training camp on food safety was organized today at the community hall in Haflong Bazar, Dharmanagar subdivision under the directives of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The training, conducted by FSSAI’s training partner, the Education and Welfare Association was mandatory for all types of food traders.
A total of 90 traders from Haflong Bazar and Anandabazar participated in the program. Several dignitaries, including former Yubarajnagar MLA Malina Debnath, Jubarajnagar RD Block Chairperson Aparna Sinha Nath, Apan Village Pradhan Sanjit Kumar Sen, Market Committee President Subrata Chakraborty and Secretary Rajendra Nath, attended the event. Additionally, Debamalya Shil (Sarthak), Coordinator for North Eastern India from the Education and Welfare Association, and FSSAI’s Special Trainer Anup Kumar Tiwari conducted the training session.
The primary objective of the camp was to educate food traders on food safety laws, ensuring compliance and enhancing transparency in food quality standards. At the conclusion of the program, all 90 participating traders were awarded certificates for their successful completion of the training.
