Agartala: Feb 19. The women of Shanti Colony area in Jatanbari sieged the Natunbazar police station demanding immediate arrest of the perpetrators of the ruling party accused of political terrorism.
The protestors alleged that on the night of election, the miscreants of the ruling party attacked several houses in the area. Several people were injured in the attack. In view of this incident, two separate cases have been registered at Nutan Bazar police station, but the police are not arresting the real miscreants.
Meanwhile, the police arrested CPIM worker Litan Shil on Saturday and brought him to the police station.
Those who besieged the police station alleged that Litan had been framed in a false case and has demanded to release of Litan immediately and unconditionally.
Speaking on the issues, one woman who protested in front of the police station said before the election many political violence occurred in our area and many CPIM workers came under attack.
She also alleged that many CPIM workers also faced attack and when CPIM party workers including one Litan Shil has retaliated after his father came under brutal attack.
