Agartala, 5th July 2025: A one-day workshop for Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) was held at Pragya Bhavan today, aimed at enhancing the efficiency and preparedness of poll officials in ensuring accurate voter rolls and peaceful elections.
The event was inaugurated by Tripura’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Brijesh Pandey.
Speaking at the inaugural session, CEO Pandey emphasized that the primary goal of the workshop is to publish error-free electoral rolls and uphold the tradition of violence-free elections in the state.
“The Election Commission of India (ECI) regularly organizes such workshops to strengthen the electoral process,” he said.
Highlighting the state’s commitment to democratic values, Pandey said that Tripura has consistently demonstrated strong democratic practices, and efforts are being intensified to maintain peaceful electoral processes in the future.
The CEO informed that EROs and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from Tripura have actively participated in similar training sessions in Delhi. Notably, 60 BLOs recently attended a workshop in the national capital. “The objective of these engagements is to ensure that all election officials are well-versed with the latest rules, regulations, and procedures,” he added.
Pandey encouraged the attending EROs to make the most of the workshop and deepen their understanding of election-related protocols. Additional Chief Electoral Officer U J Mog also addressed the gathering. EROs from various constituencies across the state were present at the session.
The workshop is part of a broader initiative by the Election Commission to strengthen grassroots-level election mechanisms and promote transparency and credibility in the electoral process.
