Workshop on assembly election with media personnel held

Agartala, January 03, 2022: A workshop on elections was held at Pragna Bhavan with journalists and photo-journalists from print and electronic media of the state on Tuesday.

In this workshop organized by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Usa Jen Mog gave a detailed discussion on the role of media, SVEEP, polling and counting, how to serve the news on model code of conduct for journalists and journalists, and Additional Electoral Officer Shubhasish Bandopadhyay elaborately discussed on MCMC.

Journalists are also given a fair idea about EVM and VVPAT in this workshop on Tuesday. Apart from this, journalists have thrown a series of questions to the panellists.

Deputy Director of Information and Cultural Affairs department Debasish Nath was also present. He discussed the role of the office during the election period.

In the inaugural speech, Additional CEO UJ Mog said “This year, the 13 assembly election will be held and a team of higher officials from the Election Commission of India is visiting the state on January 11 and 12 next.” “In view of the forthcoming assembly polls, CEO Office in Tripura is conducted training programmes of DEOs, ROs and AROs along with election officials and heads of various security agencies including state police. Accordingly, a training workshop for media personnel has also been organized today to recapitulate important issues”, he added.

He also said that ten percent of EVMs and VVPATs are utilized for creating awareness among first time voters also across the state.
