Agartala, 4th March 2025 : NABARD, Tripura Regional Office and Tripura State Cooperative Bank Limited today organized a workshop at the Tripura State Cooperative Union office in AD Nagar. The programme has been organized for providing financial assistance to 24 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies and Large Area Multi-Purpose Societies through the Cooperative Development Fund. Each society received financial support of Rs 1 lakh to strengthen its infrastructure.
The workshop was attended by NABARD General Manager Anil Kotmire and Tripura State Cooperative Bank Managing Director Bhajan Chandra Roy along with other officials.
Addressing the event, GM Kotmire emphasized the importance of infrastructure development in cooperative societies. He highlighted that the financial assistance under this support plan aims to empower farmers and rural communities by making cooperatives more resilient and self-reliant.
Kotmire said, “Infrastructure development and digitization will enhance the efficiency of cooperative societies, enabling them to provide better financial services to farmers”.
Speakers at the event expressed confidence that this step would strengthen the cooperative sector and improve access to essential credit and services for the agricultural community.
