Agartala, September 22, 2023: Today, a pivotal workshop on cyber security aimed at Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and women entrepreneurs was held at the Rajya Guest House, organized by Carts International.
The workshop addressed pressing concerns faced by women entrepreneurs, emphasizing the need to be vigilant in the rapidly expanding domain of e-commerce. Participants also received valuable insights on safeguarding their organizations against cybercrime.
Arnab Ganguly, Director of Carts International, underscored the significance of this workshop in the context of India’s vast MSME sector, which comprises approximately six crore enterprises, with 30 percent of them being women-led. He highlighted a sobering statistic from 2022 when the COVID-19 pandemic prompted many MSMEs to transition to online platforms. During that period, a staggering 1,88,000 MSMEs fell victim to cybercrimes, shedding light on the critical need for cybersecurity awareness.
The workshop delved into strategies to thwart cybercriminals from deceiving and hacking into the accounts of these enterprises, offering practical guidance for bolstering online security.
Ganguly also shared that this initiative initially commenced in Patna and has now made its debut in Tripura, marking an important milestone. The core focus of the workshop revolves around demystifying cyber security for women entrepreneurs, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to navigate the digital landscape safely and securely.
