Agartala, 1st July 2026: The Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, in collaboration with the Placement Cell of Tripura University, organised a Design Thinking and Innovation Workshop under the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Programme.
The workshop focused on idea generation, understanding innovation, problem-solving approaches, creating awareness through real-world examples and case studies, and encouraging idea sharing among students through the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow platform.
During the inaugural session, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor (In-charge) of Tripura University, Professor Badal Kumar Dutta, and Registrar Professor Sameer Kumar Sil shared their motivational thoughts and highlighted the importance of innovation, entrepreneurship, and startups. The University Librarian Dr. Campeshwar Mishra also attended the inaugural session.
Professor Salim Sah provided valuable information about the Tripura University Incubation Centre, its activities, support mechanisms, and the opportunities available for students to develop innovative ideas and transform them into entrepreneurial ventures.
Mr. Vaibhav Singh Parihar from FITT, IIT Delhi, served as the mentor for the workshop. The programme was coordinated by the Placement Officer of Tripura University, Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Dubey.
As a case study, Agartala-based startup entrepreneur Mr. Santa Devnath from Celebration Food Industries shared his entrepreneurial journey, ideas, and the process of implementing innovations through the incubation support system of Tripura University.
Dr. Harjeet Nath also interacted with the students on topics related to startups, innovation, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
Students and faculty members from various departments, including Information Technology, Sanskrit, Zoology, Hotel Management, Liberal Arts, Journalism and Mass Communication, English, Education, Computer Science, Philosophy, Economics, and Political Science, actively participated in the workshop. The programme provided an encouraging platform for students to explore creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup opportunities.
