Agartala, 2nd November 2025 : A shocking incident has rocked the quiet village of Buddhi Para in Magrum ADC Village under South Tripura’s Sabroom subdivision, where a youth allegedly launched a brutal attack on his father while under the influence of intoxicants.
Local sources informed that the victim identified as Chandramohan Tripura, was assaulted late last night by his son in a fit of rage. The altercation reportedly began when the youth, allegedly intoxicated, became furious upon finding no water in the refrigerator.
In a violent outburst, he vandalized the appliance. When Chandramohan attempted to intervene, the situation escalated, and the son allegedly struck him repeatedly with a wooden stool. The assault left Chandramohan with serious injuries to his head and ribs.
Sources say the injured man lay bleeding inside the house throughout the night. It wasn’t until this morning that relatives informed the Sabroom police. A team from the Sabroom Fire and Emergency Services promptly arrived at the scene and rescued the victim, who was then rushed to Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.
Locals claim the accused has been struggling with substance abuse for an extended period. The incident has sparked widespread alarm in the community. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
