Youth arrested with cannabis at Jogendranagar railway station

Agartala, 23rd  May 2026: . The menace of narcotics smuggling through railway routes shows no sign of abating. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid at Jogendranagar Railway Station and apprehended a youth in possession of cannabis.

According to reports, officers from College Tilla Outpost intercepted the suspect during the operation. A search revealed approximately four kilograms of cannabis in his possession. Police confirmed that a case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and the accused was produced before court on Saturday.

East Agartala Police stated that an investigation has been launched to trace the source of the contraband and identify others involved in the smuggling network. Authorities are focusing on how narcotics are being transported via rail and the extent of the network’s operations.
