Agartala, 23rd May 2026: Residents of Lake Chowmuhani Market benefitted from a major health outreach programme as a large-scale eye and medical camp was organized by the local market committee. The initiative was designed to extend healthcare facilities to ordinary citizens at their doorstep.
Throughout the day, the camp provided eye screenings, general health check-ups, and medical consultations, with doctors and volunteers offering free services and advice. The event drew considerable participation from the local community.
The camp was inaugurated in the presence of Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder, Councillor Bhaswati Debbarma, Market Committee Secretary Shyamal Saha, and several other dignitaries.
In his remarks, Mayor Majumder lauded the organizers, stressing that social responsibility extends beyond professional duties. He noted that such initiatives highlight the importance of collective efforts in building a healthier society.
Participants expressed appreciation for the programme, observing that it not only reduces the strain on hospitals but also spreads awareness about preventive healthcare. Organizers voiced their intention to continue similar initiatives, reinforcing community health services in Agartala.
