Agartala, 9th August 2026: The Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress held its monthly organisational meeting at Suryamaninagar Block on Sunday, focusing on strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level and mobilising young people ahead of upcoming elections.
On the sidelines of the event, Pradesh Youth Congress President Neel Kamal Saha said discussions were held with Youth Congress workers on the organisation’s future strategy and preparations for the elections. The meeting also marked the foundation day of the Youth Congress, which was observed with party workers and senior Congress leaders. Saha said several decisions were taken jointly to strengthen the Suryamaninagar Block Youth Congress and expand its organisational activities in the coming days.
Former Pradesh Youth Congress president Sushanta Chakraborty said the State Youth Congress has launched an initiative aimed at protecting young people from drug addiction and guiding them towards a better future. He said organisational meetings are being conducted across Tripura with block-level leaders and workers as part of the initiative.
Referring to the meeting in Suryamaninagar, Chakraborty said the Youth Congress plans to build a stronger movement for the future of the state’s youth. He said a decision has been taken to ensure the participation of at least 10 youths from every booth in organisational programmes to strengthen the party’s grassroots network.
Chakraborty further said the State Youth Congress would stand by young workers facing difficulties while carrying out organisational activities. He assured that if any youth is allegedly implicated in a false case, the organisation would provide legal assistance free of cost and extend continued support to them.
